Transition Training

When you buy a new airplane (or begin to rent a new airplane), you usually undergo 5-10 hours of "transition training," which helps you to familiarize yourself with the new airplane.  Most insurance companies want to see this training before they will write a policy.  There are many good articles in the aviation press about transition training, such as AVWeb, EAA, AOPA, among others.

As detailed above, I have flown many airplanes over my flying career, but I feel most comfortable teaching transitions to the the following aircraft (in order of my preference):

  • BE36
  • C152
  • BE35
  • C172
